  1. The water discharge is expected to increase rapidly in small and medium sized rivers is expected. Water discharge is expected to increase because of rain and snowmelt. This may cause local inundation where river channels are filled with ice and because of frozen ground. It also may cause ice drift in streams, with subsequent local inundation.

    Area

Applies to Rogaland, nord for Jæren, og Vestland fylke.

    [varsom.no]

    Instructions

Stay informed on the situation. Cleaning of drainage paths and culverts is recommended.

    Consequences

Situation that requires vigilance and may cause local damages

    The three severity levels

    Yellow - moderate danger
    Orange - considerable danger
    Red - extreme danger

Read more about the severity levels at hjelp.yr.no

  2. Some slushflows are expected. A few large slides may occur. Exposed railways and roads may be closed. Risk of slushflows is especially high in areas with more than 50 cm snow. The snow may in some places be fully water-saturated. Slushflows are triggered even in relatively gentle slopes, where water accumulates. Slushflows follow terrain depressions and may develop into debris flows. Heavy rain is expected. Relatively high temperatures and windy conditions causes significant snowmelting.

    Area

    Applies to deler av Vestlandet.

    [varsom.no]

    Instructions

Keep away from steep slopes, as well as streams and rivers with high discharge.

    Consequences

    Yellow - moderate danger
    Orange - considerable danger
    Red - extreme danger
