Steep slopes, as well as streams and river with high discharge are particularly exposed. Risk of slush flows is especially high in areas with more than 30-50 cm snow. Ånstadblåheia observation station (87000)

The station is located in Sortland municipality, 500 m.a.s.l. It is the closest official weather station, 34.3 km away from Stø. The station was established in October 2014.
