close
  1. Some landslides are expected. A few large slides may occur. Exposed railways and roads may be closed. Risk of slushflows is especially high in areas with more than 50 cm snow. The snow may in some places be fully water-saturated. Slushflows are triggered even in relatively gentle slopes, where water accumulates. Slushflows follow terrain depressions and may develop into debris flows. Steep slopes, as well as streams and rivers with high discharge, are particularly exposed. Heavy snowmelt is expected. The soil water content will increase due to snowmelt. This will increase the danger of (slushflows and) landslides and debris flows along rivers and streams, and in slopes where there is snowmelt.

    Area

Applies to deler av Trøndelag, Nordland og sør i Troms.

    [varsom.no]

    Instructions

Keep away from steep slopes, as well as streams and rivers with high discharge. Keep water paths and culverts free of snow, ice, gravel, waste, twigs and leaves. Clogged waterways with dammed water may cause landslides.

    Consequences

Situation that requires vigilance and may cause local damages

    The three severity levels

    Yellow - moderate danger
    Orange - considerable danger
    Red - extreme danger
