  1. From night to Thursday until Friday afternoon large amounts of precipitation is expected, locally 40 to 50 mm in 24 hours. Freezing level will vary, but will mainly be between 300 and 700 meter.

    Consider the need for preventive measures. The need for emergency preparedness shall be assessed continuously by emergency response actors. Check road reports (175.no). Adjust the speed and use caution while driving.

    Consequences

    Risk of flooding of low-lying areas in densely populated areas. Locally difficult driving conditions, especially at waterways. Roads may be closed. Some journeys may have longer travel time. Road conditions affected with road spray and hydroplaning in some places.

  2. From Thursday evening increasing to south gale force 8 on the coast, early Friday morning occasionally severe gale force 9. Inland locally wind gust 20-25 m/s, near the coast 25-30 m/s. Decreasing Frisday morning.

    Secure loose objects. Avoid unnecessary journeys to exposed places. Follow advice and check status from transport operators. Check road reports (175.no). Be careful in coastal areas. In advance consider measures to limit damage.

    Consequences

    Loose items may be taken by the wind. Possibly cancelled departures for ferry, plane, or other transport. Some journeys may have longer travel times. The power supply may be impacted, due to tree(s) falling over. Some roads may be closed due to trees or other objects in the road. High waves may cause damage to infrastructure and buildings in the coastal zone. The strong wind may cause locally high waves in fjords and lakes.
